Hans had the design world imprinted onto him at a young age – an elementary school classmate’s parents were architects and he grew up in a quirky home previously renovated by an architect.
But these early influences were no match for the musical background from his two working musician parents or the Physics class in high school that ignited his curiosity. A self-proclaimed nerd, he was soon building his own guitar pedals and majoring in Physics as an undergraduate. By luck he had internships that brought him into the field of Acoustics.
He found incredible satisfaction as an Acoustician – a feeling he doesn’t take for granted. Thanks to his parents, he grew up knowing that a vocation can be fulfilling while paying the bills and he considers himself lucky to work on projects that are meaningful for the client. Keeping with the musical background, Hans describes himself as an ensemble player, not a solo act. The chance to collaborate, share knowledge, and gain new perspectives in this field motivates his work.
Outside of work he enjoys he odd musical project or pickup basketball game when he can, but reserves most of his time for his family.
