Elie may have only recently graduated from the University of Michigan but you’d never know from her musical output. She majored in Sound Engineering, with a minor in Electrical Engineering, marrying the creative with the technical: music theory, yes, but also hardware design.
When not in classes, she was in the recording booth. She’s racked up numerous sessions with artists, making music with or for them and regularly recording audio for the School of Music, Theatre and Dance. Her audio engineering prowess grew to the point where she began training other students on how to use the sound booths.
Since joining Threshold, she’s been seeing this industry from a completely different angle: learning the background and design that goes into the same spaces she’s experienced as an end-user. Who knew the design that goes into making a user-friendly plug and play system! But don’t think she’s out of the recording game completely. After some time off, she’s back at her own music and producing. We look forward to hearing her on our headphones.
