What Gets Us Amp’d Up

We wanted to take a step back and get a 30,000 ft view of our consultants and all the hard work they do. We took it literally and got this great shot of Mercer Aplin during a commissioning site visit to Eton College School Hall. This is a snapshot of the work that goes into our spaces that lets you be immersed in the experience long after the doors open to the public.

Mercer joined our team in 2015 and was promoted to Senior Consultant in 2022, so he definitely knows what to do with the bird’s nest of cords. The setup you see travels with him on all commissioning trips to test the function of the audio video systems. On his screen you see Mercer adjusting the equalization of the main loudspeaker system (d&b S and E series) while monitoring the acoustic response of the system from the Smaart measurement software on his iPad. 

 Before this, the college struggled with intelligible amplified sound resulting in less-than-ideal conditions during lectures and performances, alike. The loudspeaker system has been carefully integrated into the newly renovated historic hall, delivering amplified speech and music with quality never heard in the room before.
